Back to civilization!

We came down from the high country about 6pm this evening and had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The weather was a little weird in the evenings so we didn't see a lot of animals, but we did get to relax and enjoy comfortable temperatures, good food and great company. The wildflowers were all but gone and the butterflies were searching for food everywhere. I really didn't miss the phone, the texts, or the Internet!!! It was a much needed break.

The butterflies sat very still and seemed to pose for the camera!

This ball of fluff was about 4" in diameter. It was HUGE!

Grasshoppers were everywhere with the dry conditions.

Indian Paintbrush - Wyoming's state flower.

Another hungry butterfly.

  1. Your photographs are very good! I like how the background is blurry as you focus completely on the object you are photographing. Nicely done!

  2. I think we all need a break from technology (even if it is only day or two). I am glad that you got a break! Your photos are great! You did a great job of getting up close and personal with the insects and flowers.

  3. You are very talented with your camera! I agree that sometimes a day away from your screen can be re-energizing. I found out at a conference the other day that blue light is the type of light emitted from computers, TVs, and cell phones and it prevents your brain from releasing melatonin, which is what allows us to sleep. Keeping those electronics on while you are trying to sleep can prevent good sleep or falling asleep. Everyone needs some time away from blue light and time in real light!

  4. Your photos are beautiful. Perhaps a new blog with that talent, too?! It must have been nice to have no technology for a little bit...I'd like to see my daughters without it for a weekend! I could give them the old, "This is how mom grew up" speech! Thanks for sharing your lovely photos. Looking forward to more cakes soon! :)

    1. If you click on your picture, it gives you the option of adding a caption. The it creates the square for you. It helps them stand out a bit more.
